Caitlín R. Kiernan is the author of many science fiction and dark fantasy works, including six novels, many comic books, more than one hundred published short stories and numerous scientific papers.

Her short fiction and novellas have appeared in several anthologies, including Poppy Z. Brite’s Love in Vein II, Ellen Datlow’s Wild Justice, and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman: Book of Dreams. She was the central writer for DC Comics’ The Dreaming series which was a spin off of the Sandman series. Her first novel, Silk, won the International Horror Guild Award for Best First Novel, and was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel. Her latest novel The Red Tree was released in the Summer of 2009.
