Tom’s genetic structure was altered at age 5 when he saw the first half of the original King Kong. He immediately started drawing and sculpting dinosaurs and reading all he could about movies, dinosaurs and monsters at the school library.

Soon Tom was asked to provide the special make-up and effects work for Within the Woods. All survived and the effort paid off. By November 1979 they were off to make "Book of the Dead”, later to called The Evil Dead.

Tom created a number of props such as "The Book of the Dead" and the Dagger. He also created the Deadite make ups and the gory stuff.

In 1985, while living in San Francisco, Tom got the word that Evil Dead 2 was going into production. Tom did all the stop motion animation for the flying Deadite scenes and other bits. Evil Dead 2 opened to a new wave of fans and Tom wound up working on The Fly 2 at Chris Walas Productions.

After sculpting with real pros, Tom found that the bigger films required fewer artistic contributions from him. He moved back to Michigan and illustration art including work for Chaosium Inc. and their Lovecraftian role playing game "Call of Cthulhu".

Tom decided to go into business publishing his own art and replicas and eventually a range of other creative projects. Thus was born DARK AGE PRODUCTIONS. DARK AGE PRODUCTIONS is publishing dozens of Archival quality prints of Tom’s Lovecraftian and Evil Dead Art.
